Unauthorized Author Abandons Project

Please accept my apologies. I have changed my mind and have decided not to write the bio posts about my kids. When I write, I embellish and exaggerate my characters & their circumstances so you don't fall asleep on your keyboard. That obstacle is combined with the fact that I am an intensely private person which has created in me an awareness and respect to honor other people's privacy & dignity as well. Once I couldn't make myself check out a an unauthorized biography of Garrison Keillor that I wanted to read SO badly. But because he had not given his permission or contributed to it, I felt I was being rude and invading his privacy. So when writing about my children I feel the need to be honest and sincere without any artistic license but doing that also makes me feel as if I am invading their privacy and possibly overstepping my boundaries & showing them disrespect or being unkind by sharing their stories. So, as I feel very uncomfortable with this project, I am abandoning it for now & will honor them in private letters instead. While on this subject, I want to take this public opportunity to thank all of my friends who read my blog for the overwhelming kindness and support and show of love for my home and my family in your comments on The Burrow of Dimwhits. I was honestly overcome by all the love you poured out and it turns out I was going to need it over those couple of days as a reminder that there is still some good left in the human race. Your responses were the one thing that renewed my faith & hope & encouraged me to not give up & turn my back on humanity completely. At least not this week. God knew I was going to need that and He used all of you to send it. Thanks guys, you're the best. I had forgotten that anything without four legs and a furry tail could be a friend. :)

Completely understand but being so far away from you all I will definately miss hearing about the others. I have missed out on so much being so far away...makes me very sad....

Love you, Mary

Probably a good decision for your family, even though lots of people will be disappointed not to get to read the bios. Its always best to be authorized, even when the subjects are little guys. Ricky has told me several things that I had better not put on my blog including the jaccuzzi pics ... oops - did I say that?

It's great that you are respecting everyone's feelings. I did a post with my daughter about her. We kept it simple and non-invasive by making a list. She seemed to really enjoy doing it. It's here if you want to check it out:

Wow. I really never thought of privacy in that way. I mean, I never would have thought not to read a book a biography that its subject hadn't approved.

That's kind of amazing of you.
