I DID IT!

I finally did it. I took my kayak farther than I have ever been before. I have been wanting to do this trip for months but never have. Today I was feeling energetic & brave, Day 6 off the sugar & junk, that happy brain chemistry starting to kick in. I put in at our Park, paddled downriver under the bridge, past Moulton Park to the big curve on Bloomery. Gaston was gonna pick me up in the truck. Since I had never done it before and didn't have a clue how long it would take when he asked me what time, I said in my most ancient wise river voice to meet me a little after 5. We both arrived at the parking area at about the same time. Whew. Lucky guess. It only took a bout 2 1/2 hours. I tried to give him a visual he could understand as to why I was so tickled, other than just the fact I had wanted to do that for so long. I said that the feeling of accomplishment was equivalent to him doubling the weight he benchpressed. I think he got it. I feel really great but really tired. My arms are all wobbly like jello so typing is out. :) I found my new "Sunday drive". I can't wait to do it again. Got to do some very small tame rapids & maneuver over some rocks, but where I took out is right before where the big kids go to kayak. Maybe one day...

COOL!!! I'm so proud of you for doing this on your own. I know you enjoy your time alone, but let me know if you want company doing it again. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day!!! I'm glad you took advantage of it and did this trip before it gets too cold.

I'm so proud of you! There's nothing like a real adventure to help get your heart and mind on the same page. At least for a little bit those little, time consuming and annoying things don't matter so much.

You're amazing.

Loved the beaver posts by the way.

Mel liked your blog and wants to talk to you about nutrition sometime. She liked what you have to say and has a lot of respect for what you're doing.

Love you so much.
