Luna & I took the kayaks out last night at dusk for a trip under the full moon. We went down river, under the bridge to the wide part of the river and watched the sun go down & the moon come up. I am unable to describe with words what it was like to be there & see all the things we saw or describe to you the feeling & awe. So I will just give you facts and let you make your own picture.
Geese flapping & honking right over our heads.
Sun sinking behind the trees.
Sky & River pink, purple & blue.
Golden fish jumping.
Campfire smoke floats through the trees and settles in a mist on the water.
The sun leaves us in the dark with Venus as our only light.
Stars appearing one by one, then two by two, then too many to count dancing on the surface of the water.
Crickets & frogs singing in the blackness.
Bats fluttering.
Wildfire appears over the top of the hill & starts to grow.
It isn't a fire, it is a giant orange pumpkin rising higher in the sky. the most beautiful moon I have ever seen.
We forget to breathe.
As it rises higher & higher, it becomes smaller but brighter until all the color is gone.
Reflection perfection.
Treetops & hills reflect in perfect symmetry on the mirror that was a river.
All the color has left. Now only dark & light exist.
Bright sky, dark trees, bright water, dark water.
Luna sings. Venus glows. I make the moon dance on the water as I paddle through the darkness.
I shiver from the wet coldness. I shiver at the wonder & unbelievable beauty of it all.

Beautiful picture.
Wow, that is awesome. I am so glad that you and Luna were able to share that together. And thank you for painting such a beautiful picture for us. I love watching the moon rise over the ocean when we are in delaware sitting on the beach.
Thank you for pulling me into such a beautiful moment!!
**hugs**
Whoa
Wow what an awesome description! I'm there in my mind again!
I had a another awesome couple of days driving past the Blue Ridge Mountains (wish I was on the back of the Harley to take pictures and smell the crispness of Autumn, but had a nice visit in the car with my son). We saw hundreds of parachuter's from 15 different countries dive into the Gorge into the New River (well, most landed on the ground on target).
Celebrated the 30th anniversary of my first nephew. Wow, do I feel old!
Keet, I can't wait to take you home with me for a few days to stay in the cabin and let the boys fish in "bass pond". BTW... my mom wants to adopt you! She likes reading your blogs and hearing all the wonderful things I find myself telling her about my good friend.
